wheeee today was a ball-ish day! -in an absolutely nonsick way-

hm let's start with netball carn. well, it was really really fun. though i think my passes today were totally screwed (elaine&hemin be my witnesses) but whatever, twas fun! :D we played and played and played. 12 games in total. i was alternating with lingyue for wingA. and yesh, it was fun.

the teachers-students match was uberrrr cool. and our class was totally enthu can! the first match, ms ong played O.O hahaha. hilarious~ and the teachers were playing against the sec1 netballers, and obvi the sec1s pwn-d. teehee x)

but the second match, the male teachers keep "fouling" cos they were like playing basketball. haha but whatever. and our class is kindof mean too, we kept sabo-ing teachers. heh. ms sharon ong, mr daniel lau, trier, ms shanthi, mr james ong, etcetc. we would have called alot more other teachers to play, if they had been around. haha!

mhmm! anyway, 110 won 1st for both shooting and banner okay. whoooooo~ yup. so anyway, went out for lunch with quite alot of people, including trier. (she was supposed to treat us to gelare!) but too bad, trier had to go, so she paid for the drinks :D she's totally cool manzx! then they were deciding where to go and ended up at my house in the end.

we wanted to swim. in tshirts and rgshorts. but my parents said no so... we went to play bball. and fool around at the playgrounds! omg i <3 color="#666666">free theme park rides -to quote RAIN- and that not so poor millipede. haha.

anyway, in short, today was funfunfun. yay my house!

tomorrow. guides rural hike @ botanical garden O.O and bowling at raffles town club~

(: our class sold handphone holders and pouches and stuff like that. twas quite cool, and our sales was pretty good. our handphone holders are really cool! precisely why i bought one x) and jaslyn&denise&ruth&sarah were really enthu toward the end. they were singing songs to advertise our stall LOUDLY in the middle of the canteen. haha ;D and steph&rain&jaslyn&whoever, they said "u'll get free numbers too! ri, acs, sji, hci, whatever. soccer, rugger, hocker, whatever also have!" GOODNESS HILARIOUS!

okay. next thing. heh. my cousin-in-law gave birth to her daughter today. that would mean, my niece is born. which would also mean, im an auntie (a nice young one okay!) heh. i like nice nieces, they sound good :D

today was the last jap lesson, for the year ): well, i slept through the first half of the lesson (more or less) since the teacher was teaching and i really wasnt in the mood. and after break, she taught us how to draw doraemon with that silly song. haha! very very funny. -deedee u sicko- then we took class photos and we were released. so sad, im probably never gonna see kunmei again. since she's quitting next year D: KUNMEI NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

let me see. what else. oh yes, i've been really busy lately, and my schedule's been a little more hectic than usual. well because, there's netball carn on tuesday, OM auditions on monday, and drama night auditions tomorrow! -faints- no worries, i'll pull through :D

1. DRAMA NIGHT!
well no offence, but i seriously think our class's script and everything is FAB! :D yesh. and i love it every single bit! heh. i realise our class likes make-up, and dressup, and everything else drama. make-up ish cool -green eyes & pink pouty lips!- yes, and now im cheryl's official hairstylist. special offer x)

2. NETBALL CARN!
netball carn's next tuesday. and im in the roundrobin games. and our class is really training hard manzx. like, jaslyn wants us to train everyday. and they're actually funn, albeit a little tiring (: and it's sad that i cant go for all of them. but we'll work real hard! and jaslyn, you've done a great job as captain! :D on a side note, it's sad that we wont get to wear class tees on netcarn. ahwells..

3. ACP DAY!
im not sure if that's what it's called but.. ya. x) haha you should listen to our jingle! it sounds sooooo opera-ish and makes me wanna laugh all over again everytime i hear it. but anyways, it was a job well done y'all! :D mhmm. and to rg-ians: buy our handphone pouches/holders! heh. they're prettehhh!

4. GUITAR!
well, i think the guitar's cool. and i'd probably be able to learn it with practice. heh. and and cj's a great teacher. and i finally learnt how to play collide, though it sounds a wee bit funny sometimes, BUT WHATEVER! :D and my dad says they'll probably let me learn guitar (which includes getting one) after im done with piano, just for fun of course=no exams or whatsoever (:

5. HOLIDAYS!
my parents still havent confirmed when and where we're going this dec, but we're deffo going with sheryl and yanyi. yayness! :D it's probably going to be real short, like 3-4days, bintan/batam i think. seasports<3! and there's so many things i wanna do in the holidays. which includes major packing of my room, and shopping's right on the list! i seriously need more clothes okay, i've grown out of more than 3/5 of the clothes in my cupboard. =/

6. P6 PRIZE-GIVING CEREMONY @ TNS!
hm. im going to back to taonan on 16nov to receive a prize for last year's psle. yay! :D heh, can we go out after that? pleaseeee. for the people who are going back to tns i mean.. or the rest can join or something :D eastcoastparkbreakwater=totalhappiness!

7. OM AUDITIONS!
i sincerely hope im not the only individual applicant. and it's gonna be really hard to write a script that suits the audition's demands for only ONE person. but i'll try and i really really hope i get in (: i really wanna do OM performance! though if i dont get in, i could always do rs&fpsp. but there isnt much point since my fpsp team is gone, is there?

8. EOYS RESULTS!
wow, this is a bitty bit backdated, but still. i think i did farely normal, which means it was kindof within my expectations. i scored for two subjects-geog&hist. and i seriously screwed up chinese. big time. im not gonna tell u all about it here, ask me if u wanna.. but, ya.

9. GOING OUT!
well, i didnt know what else to call it so.. x) heh anyways, yes, there're hardly any nice movies to watch anymore. but i still want to watch the nanny diaries! :D and i WANT to take neos with alot alot of people! sooooooooo many it's kindof impossible to name. i hope my piggy bank doesnt go bankrupt after all this. heh. the little things she wants are the little things she can have!

POVERTY. THE CAUSE OF IT?

hm. this idea probably started during the "stand up, speak out" campaign in school against poverty. buying the white wrist bands, printing my handprint on those banners. these are just little ways to show my support and contribution. but, what i really want is to make a difference. how?

so, i came back and discussed this topic with my dad. it was really insightful.

first of all, living in a meritocratic society, where people earn different incomes and have different standards of livings, this would mean that there are social classes. the rich and the poor, living in one society, living two absolutely different lives. in my opinion, this is definitely acceptable, as long as the income gap is not too wide.

however, if we lived in a society that believed in the idea of communism. everyone would recieve the same amount of pay no matter how hard they worked, or how talented they were. then, who would have the heart or incentive to try and excel in what they are doing. compare between a doctor and a peasant, they'd earn the same amount of money no matter what, who then would want to get an education and be a doctor?

that brings us to the next question. without communism, the rich would exploit the poor to become richer. the rich become richer, the poor become poorer. the income gap increases, and there is even more poverty amongst the poor. and when come a time the poor get angry and decide to rebel against the rich, that's where communism comes about.

but the point is, would u rather take equal slices out of a small pie, or take different sized slices out a of a much much much bigger pie?

then what about the starving children in africa and indonesia? is it their fault that they're born into such a weak and poor family, country? NO. however, with the right mentality, they can strive to exceed. the CEO of the highly-acclaimed company Hyflux is indeed such an example. she was born into a poor family in malaysia, but look where she is now?

i believe that people should be given equal opportunities to rise among the social classes. however, whether or not they do rise, would be dependent on whether they possess the right attitude or mentality to do so.

take for example, singapore. we do have the rich and the poor, but income gaps are reduced when people are made to pay income taxes. yes, we do allow the rich to get richer. however, we must not forget the poor who have helped the rich to become richer, and the rich should then in turn return some to the poor, or even reward them.

what im trying to say is that, being poor is not just about being born into a poor family or developing country. the people, their mentalities, the government all have to play a part. indeed, some of them are just plain unfortunate and do not have the means to succeed even if they had the heart to.

so how then can we help these people, who truly need our help? feeding them, providing them with daily neccessities, isnt the only way out. they might just become more reliant on donors, and lose their will to excel in life. then, what do the countries' governments have to do to create opportunities for the poor and improve their standards of living?

i sincerely pray for these people, and hope that help will one day fall upon them :D

goodness, i keep feeling the urge to blog. even though i dont exactly always have something to blog about. but still. it'll keep the readers coming! ;D ooh and piano's gonna start in exactly 15mins.

anyways, i went to sentosa this morning. cos my brother went to stay there for one night with my cousin at rasa sentosa. so me dad mum went down to find them, since it's only a 5mins drive away anyway (:

well we spent some time looking around for them and my uncle wasnt picking up his phone. haha. we found them when they were on the way back from the pool. yup. so they went back to the hotel to bathe and pack up and get ready to check out and everything.

so after that, we drove to the luge. i tell you, it's really really fun. i love it. so far i think i only took it four times. but hey, i win my brother EVERY time. though he usually starts first. ha! take that bro! ;D

yupyup. anyway, after me&bro&shyan&teng took the skyride and luge twice each [the parents didnt go] we went for lunch at vivo. hehe.

so anyway, im going to my grandma's later for dinner. and hence, i'll probably not be coming online anymore since piano's starting soon and i cant use the computer when my brother's having piano so. TATA FOR NOW~

and for history, our invigilator was hilarious. before the exam started, she gave us 2mins to read the questions in the booklet. she was like "girls, please read page 2. can read, but cannot write ah" haha.

and after the test, she took a sooooooper long time collecting the papers and sorting and counting. so in the mean time, very very innovative 110 started throwing paper balls around at each other. and jaslyn threw her shoe. once. and no, it didnt hit anyone (:

anyway, when the teacher was done with everything, she said "why are all of you laughing", because of course we were. and then she looked around and said "girls dont anyhow throw the paper on the floor". haha. HILARIOUS.

yes. that's about it. tomorrow's HCL and i have no idea how to study for it, neither do i wish to. so there. im slacking now. and i shall stay back tomorrow to study physics with sarah and meijun and some other people. yesh. and i dont think i have much to study for maths so, can i say im MORE OR LESS DONE WITH MUGGING FOR THE YEAR YO!

POVERTY. THE CAUSE OF IT?

hm. this idea probably started during the "stand up, speak out" campaign in school against poverty. buying the white wrist bands, printing my handprint on those banners. these are just little ways to show my support and contribution. but, what i really want is to make a difference. how?

so, i came back and discussed this topic with my dad. it was really insightful.

first of all, living in a meritocratic society, where people earn different incomes and have different standards of livings, this would mean that there are social classes. the rich and the poor, living in one society, living two absolutely different lives. in my opinion, this is definitely acceptable, as long as the income gap is not too wide.

however, if we lived in a society that believed in the idea of communism. everyone would recieve the same amount of pay no matter how hard they worked, or how talented they were. then, who would have the heart or incentive to try and excel in what they are doing. compare between a doctor and a peasant, they'd earn the same amount of money no matter what, who then would want to get an education and be a doctor?

that brings us to the next question. without communism, the rich would exploit the poor to become richer. the rich become richer, the poor become poorer. the income gap increases, and there is even more poverty amongst the poor. and when come a time the poor get angry and decide to rebel against the rich, that's where communism comes about.

but the point is, would u rather take equal slices out of a small pie, or take different sized slices out a of a much much much bigger pie?

then what about the starving children in africa and indonesia? is it their fault that they're born into such a weak and poor family, country? NO. however, with the right mentality, they can strive to exceed. the CEO of the highly-acclaimed company Hyflux is indeed such an example. she was born into a poor family in malaysia, but look where she is now?

i believe that people should be given equal opportunities to rise among the social classes. however, whether or not they do rise, would be dependent on whether they possess the right attitude or mentality to do so.

take for example, singapore. we do have the rich and the poor, but income gaps are reduced when people are made to pay income taxes. yes, we do allow the rich to get richer. however, we must not forget the poor who have helped the rich to become richer, and the rich should then in turn return some to the poor, or even reward them.

what im trying to say is that, being poor is not just about being born into a poor family or developing country. the people, their mentalities, the government all have to play a part. indeed, some of them are just plain unfortunate and do not have the means to succeed even if they had the heart to.

so how then can we help these people, who truly need our help? feeding them, providing them with daily neccessities, isnt the only way out. they might just become more reliant on donors, and lose their will to excel in life. then, what do the countries' governments have to do to create opportunities for the poor and improve their standards of living?

i sincerely pray for these people, and hope that help will one day fall upon them :D

hello once again :D

goodness, i keep feeling the urge to blog. even though i dont exactly always have something to blog about. but still. it'll keep the readers coming! ;D ooh and piano's gonna start in exactly 15mins.

anyways, i went to sentosa this morning. cos my brother went to stay there for one night with my cousin at rasa sentosa. so me dad mum went down to find them, since it's only a 5mins drive away anyway (:

well we spent some time looking around for them and my uncle wasnt picking up his phone. haha. we found them when they were on the way back from the pool. yup. so they went back to the hotel to bathe and pack up and get ready to check out and everything.

so after that, we drove to the luge. i tell you, it's really really fun. i love it. so far i think i only took it four times. but hey, i win my brother EVERY time. though he usually starts first. ha! take that bro! ;D

yupyup. anyway, after me&bro&shyan&teng took the skyride and luge twice each [the parents didnt go] we went for lunch at vivo. hehe.

so anyway, im going to my grandma's later for dinner. and hence, i'll probably not be coming online anymore since piano's starting soon and i cant use the computer when my brother's having piano so. TATA FOR NOW~

YAY! friday was a nicenicee day :D

balls of fury is funnaye. and the coarse humour is really really coarse too. heh but it's still funny, even though the plot is really really lame. yup. ANDAND i love the popcorn tin. it's soooo cute and pink and full of cows. heh. yes, and i will be sharing it with cj (: it's our box!

another thing. even though that big teddy bear from toys r us is really cute and i do want it, sherry cj waye jae DONT get it for my birthday okay. seriously. i dont need it and it's really expensive. though if u insist, i'd rather you just give me the sixty bucks. heh kidding. don't buy it okay!

heh. okay enough. i am so happy, because i can make the rubik cube! heh darl darl sherry taught me. and sherry's seriously pro okay, she learnt how to make the "rubik pyramid"(?) in like, one day! :D

wheeeeee. and walking around the condo with waye and sherry was funn too. and the weather was good cos it just rained.

well, the maths paper was tough. and i do not like it. and i do not have good feelings about it. what a way to end the eoys huh.

shopping with my aunt was great. and so was cheesecake&caramel-iceblended. and i like the things i bought. (:

that's about it i guess. tomorrow, it should be a good good day. though im not in a good good mood now.

hm today is a blogworthy day i guess :D

yesh. so anyway, let me start. i couldnt sleep last night at all. not really anyway. i kept scratching my head .-. and when i woke up, i went into the toilet, i was still scratching my head, then i look at my nails and there was blood. O_O

so anyway, today's papers were all pretty okay, easy-ish. which is a good thing i guess (:

and for history, our invigilator was hilarious. before the exam started, she gave us 2mins to read the questions in the booklet. she was like "girls, please read page 2. can read, but cannot write ah" haha.

and after the test, she took a sooooooper long time collecting the papers and sorting and counting. so in the mean time, very very innovative 110 started throwing paper balls around at each other. and jaslyn threw her shoe. once. and no, it didnt hit anyone (:

anyway, when the teacher was done with everything, she said "why are all of you laughing", because of course we were. and then she looked around and said "girls dont anyhow throw the paper on the floor". haha. HILARIOUS.

yes. that's about it. tomorrow's HCL and i have no idea how to study for it, neither do i wish to. so there. im slacking now. and i shall stay back tomorrow to study physics with sarah and meijun and some other people. yesh. and i dont think i have much to study for maths so, can i say im MORE OR LESS DONE WITH MUGGING FOR THE YEAR YO!

hm. strangely enough, now that the exams are nearing, im not getting more frantic or mugging like crazy for that matter. weird? instead, im getting a little bit slacker. hm, and i have a bad feeling about this.

ahwells. it's kindof sad the teachers are "leaving" us now. they probably wont teach us ever again. and i'll definitely remember ALL of them cos' they've made my sec1 year really cool. yes, even ms ong :D

have u ever realised? once the EOYs start, it's like there's not stopping them. and before you know it, it'll all be over. and then u'll look back and either say "pooh i think i flunked them" or "hm, i have a good feeling about this". i hope i'll manage to even choke out the latter.

yup. tomorrow-eng compo and lit. i really really hope and pray i get at least 22/30 for eng compo, and im aiming for 18 for lit, though that's a wee bit out of reach eh? =/

yes anyway, i wont be posting until EOYs are over, but i'll check my tagboard frequently ya? :D
